For the society of 2032, remote work has become the predominant model; however, there are a few professions that, due to their nature, have not fully adjusted to this format and therefore opted for an hybrid model. This small group of hybrid workers have become the new elite and have imposed trends, fashions and an aspirational life for those working from home.

At the same time, several studies deepen in the side effects of remote work, revealing that around 72% of remote workers feel lonely at least once a month, or what's even worse, that the impact of loneliness can be equally compared to the risk of smoking 15 cigarettes a day.

With that in mind, we decided to create a desk toy that simulates the role of a "companion". A humanized object with a childish aesthetic and soft shapes that pretends to be a technological  friend in a world where loneliness is a constant.

Mr. Lonely is a desk toy that, through the emission of different sounds, aims to eliminate silence as well as the feeling of emptiness generated in the environment when being alone. Based on a future scenario, which in the face of the decrease in face-to-face work, seeks to question how much we are allowing technology to become a refuge instead of encouraging the strengthening of interpersonal relationships.
